Charterhouse Gary MahoneyGary Mahoney – Chief Executive

Gary followed his father into the print industry (after a short-lived attempt at accountancy!) and has been our Chief Executive for over 15 years; leading Charterhouse’s evolution during that time whilst always trying to stick to his mantra of “Enjoy every day and smile, it makes other people feel good!”. He has been known to pick up a guitar in public, but sadly his musical talents did not match the early childhood enthusiasm! Gary’s greatest achievements are his three kids, and in the winter months you’re likely find him traversing the slopes with all the family. When the snow melts, it’s time to get on the golf course – whenever his busy schedule allows.

Anthony HawkinsAnthony Hawkins – New Business Director

Anthony started his career as the local paperboy and dreamt of a “chopper bike” to help him on his way, but got a tricycle instead! He has worked with Jason (see below) for many years and describes one of his greatest achievements as helping Mr Hammond climb Ben Nevis unaided – living up to his favourite motto that “life begins at the edge of your comfort zone”. Anthony loves sport, with walking (his dog to the nearest hostelry) top of list, and his ultimate day would be winning a poker tournament in Vegas! But what really motivates Anthony is working with what he describes as all the “lovely people” at Charterhouse!

Chrystel AdamsChrystel Adams – Client Services Director (Europe)

Chrystel has led our European growth during the last few years, as her Airmiles account will no doubt testify. A typical day includes a 4am alarm, getting to a local office in Europe before her team, lunching with clients, getting home on time to kiss children goodnight and then…starting it all again! She loves the daily challenges; which probably seem easy following an early career move into logistics, where Chrystel led a workforce that was 99% male and first introduced her trusted mantra of “do it now, don’t wait until tomorrow”! She spends her spare time horse riding and running.

Jason HammondJason Hammond – Client Operations Director

Jason ended up in our industry by accident! He started off washing cars in an advertising agency’s car park, but sticking to his motto, “the harder you try, the luckier you get” he ended up at Charterhouse, and has been a key member of our board for 10 years. When’s he’s not looking after clients, Jason can be found relaxing in the Med with his wife and 5 lovely children, maybe even entertaining them with his juggling skills!

David Fincham photoDavid Fincham – Business Development Director

David loves the challenge of working in a marketing production sector that is constantly evolving, despite his earliest career plan of one day walking on the moon! At 16 he started out at Homebase and at 6’ 3” soon became known as the “jolly green giant”, before taking a giant step into purchasing. A true sports fan, David’s party trick is to spin a football on his finger like a Harlem Globetrotter and he dreams that his beloved Colchester will one day play at Wembley in the FA Cup final. When not busy on business development duties, David enjoys dining out or hitting the theatre with his wife and son.

Cathy PreshnerCathy Preshner – HR Director

Cathy loves travelling far and wide to exotic destinations, and then spending her days skiing, diving and buzzing around on speedboats when she gets there! It’s that love of the fast lane that first attracted her to an industry that never stands still and always keeps her on her toes (not dissimilar to two of Cathy’s other pastimes: playing squash and running around after her two boys!). After a hard day at the beach Cathy is also dab-hand on the BBQ.

Neal CarterNeal Carter – Finance Director

Neal is our numbers man, but aside from financial reporting his other passions are his family (he relishes the challenge of living in a house with 3 females!) and West Ham Utd. In fact he still dreams of one day scoring for them in the FA Cup final! Whilst at school, Neal combined studying with working behind the checkout at Safeway, and nowadays his leisure activities of choice include wind-surfing, mountaineering and working as an unpaid taxi driver for his 2 daughters! Sticking to his motto of “enjoy today because you never know what is around the corner” Neal once appeared on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”, with some success!
